Other Initiatives

I am driven to use my voice to make meaningful change in the world — through singing or otherwise. Here’s my professional work off the stage:

Founder, Executive Director

Park City Opera is a 501(c)(3) organization bringing staged opera to Park City, Utah for the first time in 20+ years. We are reinvigorating a centuries-old art form by reimagining the concert experience in venues that showcase the natural beauty of Utah.

  • We are pleased to offer a wide range of public events in Park City year-round. All of our events are designed for both the opera newbie and the seasoned opera lover alike. For a full list of upcoming events, visit this page.

  • Park City Opera has two major artistic initiatives:

    • Main Stage Opera (Summer)

    • Concert Series & Events (Year-round)

All artists who work with PCO join our Artists Collective. To learn more about how we are creating opportunities for artists locally and nationwide, check out our For Artists page.

Overdose Guardian

Co-Founder

  • In 2019, I co-founded Overdose Guardian with Dr. Minhee Sung (Instructor, Yale School of Medicine). Overdose Guardian is a medical device startup creating wearable opioid overdose detection.

We use biomarker sensors and a machine learning suite to rapidly connect someone experiencing overdose to emergency services. Our safety tool works in tandem with harm reduction and addiction treatment to promote long-term recovery.

Our team is committed to creating comprehensive solutions for individuals and their loved ones affected by substance use disorders.

  • We’ve been awarded 75k in non-dilutive funding from the NIH National Institute on Drug Abuse, VentureWell, Verizon, the Clinton Global Initiative, Yale Tsai City, and Innovate Health Yale.

I presented at the Yale School of Medicine Grand Rounds and the American Academy of Pain Medicine, and served as a fellow for Yale Innovation to Impact (NIH partnership).

Cervical Cancer Screening

  • Sihanouk Center for Hope, Cambodia

  • Amazon Promise, Peru

  • United Foundation for China’s Health, China

  • Since its founding in 2017, I have worked with the Gynecologic Cancers Research Foundation to develop cost-effective strategies based on new biotechnologies to screen for cervical pre-cancers. I have personally assisted with data collection, organization, and lab processes on brigades in Cambodia, Peru, and China where more than 10,000 women in underserved communities were screened and treated for cervical pre-cancers.

  • I am an author on seven peer-reviewed publications published in The Journal of Women’s Health, BMJ Open, The Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease, Infectious Agents and Cancer, Sexual Medicine Reviews, and The Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention. I gave a poster presentation at the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and a podium address at the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health.
